Guangdong Jumei Daily Necessities Co., Ltd. has successfully passed the environmental protection completion and acceptance inspection for its newly constructed production facility, marking a significant milestone in the company's commitment to sustainable manufacturing and operational excellence.

The new plant, located in Huadu District, Guangzhou, represents a total investment of RMB 2 million, of which RMB 200,000 was allocated specifically to environmental protection facilities. The facility spans a total site area of 9,550 square meters with a built-up area of 5,340 square meters. With an annual production capacity of 8,280 tons of laundry detergent (equivalent to 2.4 million bottles) and 100 tons of laundry sheets, the plant significantly strengthens the company's manufacturing capabilities.

Comprehensive Environmental Management Systems

In line with China's stringent environmental regulations, the company has implemented a full suite of pollution control measures across its production processes-. The facility features a closed-workshop air collection system that directs organic exhaust fumes generated during laundry detergent and laundry sheet production to a "two-stage activated carbon" treatment facility before being released through a 15-meter exhaust stack. Similarly, emissions from injection molding and blow molding operations are collected via hoods and treated through dedicated activated carbon systems prior to emission.

Wastewater management is equally comprehensive. Domestic sewage undergoes pretreatment through septic tanks and grease traps before being discharged into the municipal pipeline network for further treatment at the Huadu District Tanbu Town Huanshan Village Industrial Park wastewater treatment station. Production wastewater—including equipment cleaning water, inspection wastewater, and floor wash water—is periodically transported by licensed environmental service providers to industrial wastewater treatment facilities for professional processing. Concentrated water and cooling water are recovered as clean effluent and fully reused for on-site floor cleaning, demonstrating the company's commitment to water conservation.

Other environmental measures include soundproofing, silencing, vibration damping, and distance attenuation strategies to ensure factory boundary noise levels comply with Class 2 standards of the "Emission Standard for Industrial Enterprises Noise at Boundary" (GB12348-2008). Solid waste is systematically managed: domestic waste is collected by municipal sanitation departments, food waste and waste grease are handled by licensed disposal operators, waste packaging materials are sold to recycling companies, injection molding scraps and defective products are crushed and reused in production, waste activated carbon and waste oil are separately collected and transferred to qualified hazardous waste disposal units.

Regulatory Compliance Journey

The project received its environmental impact assessment (EIA) approval from the Guangzhou Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau Huadu Branch on April 24, 2024, under approval document No. Sui Huan Guan Ying (Hua) [2024] No. 60. The EIA review process included a public comment period from April 15 to April 19, 2024, during which the project details were made available for public scrutiny-4. The environmental impact report was prepared by Dongguan Huawei Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd.

The successful completion of the environmental acceptance inspection demonstrates Guangdong Jumei's adherence to the "three simultaneities" principle—requiring environmental protection facilities to be designed, constructed, and commissioned simultaneously with the main project-. The company has fulfilled its obligation to conduct independent acceptance inspections, prepare compliance reports, and publicly disclose the results in accordance with national standards and procedures.
